A logging job on block A and B in Shunbei area Northern Oilfield has been successfully completed by using a JASON 9000-meter-long coiled tubing string with cable injected by JASON Energy Technologies Co. This has set a depth record of 8090 meters in Asia well logging. The completion of this task, which acquired all data including well temperature, pressure and well diameter will provide valuable experience for future super-deep well logging and production.
The Shunbei ultra-deep fault-karst oil reservoir area has an average depth of over 7,300 meters. With the development of exploration, 8000-meter deep oil well has become a new norm. This is the only type of new oil reserve in China and can rarely be found in other places worldwide. The special geologic structure and super deep formation made it very difficult to conduct exploration and production. In addition, the use of wireline production logging in deep wells within 7,500 meters has also reached the operating limit.
With the number super-deep and high-pressure wells rises, the clients have an increasing demand for cable injection into ultra-long coiled tubing string. JASON made a breakthrough in this area using the most advanced equipment and technology. The successful cable injection into 9000-meter coiled tubing string will be another driving force for oil and gas exploration.
